East Germans flee to West Berlin aboard river ship

Riverside to vote on 25 year gas franchise
Riverside residents will vote Tuesday July 10 on granting a 25 year franchise to Iown Illinois Gas and Electric Co to provide gas. Ballots will be cast at Riverside Town Hall from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Action to set up the election was taken at a town council meeting and Mayor Roger Sehloss presided.

Mrs. Bill Davis formerly Mada Johnson and a Richland resident died today in Grand Junction Colorado after years of illness. She and her husband farmed near Richland and ran a produce business. Born May 2 1898 she lived with her son Orin Davis since her husband’s death. The body returns to Richland for funeral services likely Monday or Tuesday at the Richland Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Frederic Harris.
