Military recovers Kronberg jewels in Chicago theft case
Army investigators revealed two remaining suspects, a Major and a Corporal, in the Kronberg castle robbery case. Col Durant and his bride Capt Kathleen Nash Durant identified a baggage locker in an Illinois Central station containing most of the loot, while earlier gems were found in Hudson, Wisconsin. The jewels, including pearls rubies aquamarine and diamonds, were flown to Washington and displayed under armed guard. officials say their value exceeds the German figure of 1.5 million dollars.

Death toll in Chicago hotel fire tops sixty
