A sewer gas explosion in building No 7 the artillery building at Oliver Farm Equipment Co caused $2 000 to $3 000 in damages. George Bird plant superintendent said a wall in a walled-in room was blown out and no one was injured.

Funeral services for Mrs. Minal Putman are announced for Friday afternoon at two o'clock at the L. A. Jones funeral home and will be private. She died yesterday at Davenport and was a former resident of Washington. Burial will be at Elm Grove cemetery. She was a daughter of John Bellville and Mary Ann Amrine and the wife of Charles Putman who died in 1915. A son Oral is deceased. Mrs. Frank Miller of south of town is a stepsdaughter.
