A crowd of 15 900 gathered at Waterloo stadium Thursday for a massed band concert closing the Northeast Iowa band festival powered by the Junior Chamber of Commerce. About 45 bands totaling around 2250 musicians performed under Harold Bachman of the University of Chicago after a five mile noon parade seen by more than 20 000 spectators.

West Liberty Fire Destroys Lumber Yard Tractors

Former Des Moines representative pleads guilty to liquor transport
Felix Edwards of Burlington pled guilty in district court to illegal transportation of intoxicating liquor. He was fined 750 dollars plus costs by Judge E O Newell. Bloomquist Estate Sues Over Fatal Fall At Dayton Store
The estate of Edna Bloomquist of Dayton Iowa files a $20,000 damage suit alleging a January fall on an icy entry to J J Newberry caused her death and that of her unborn infant.
