Editor Allen of Wayland Dies at 86 in Wayland
William Jasper Allen longtime owner and editor of the Wayland News died at his Wayland home after a period of declining health. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 PM at Wayland Methodist Church with burial in Wayland cemetery. He was born January 6 1867 in Henry county married Nellie McCune and later moved to Wayland where he ran a livery business and served as postmaster before buying the News plant at age fifty. Surviving are his widow and four children Leslie Richer Warren Wayne and Mildred. he also held roles as mayor councilman and head of the Commercial club in Wayland.

Aviators Burn to Death in Accident
Washington June 7. Keith Keeling 30 a pilot and Clay Goodrich 23 an aviation mechanic and student pilot were burned to death when their monoplane fell 800 feet in a tailspin over Arlington Virginia and burst into flames after taking off from Potomac flying field to test a recently factory delivered plane from Alexandria. Keeling home was Kansas City and he had been a licensed pilot 10 years.

Man Bound Over After Drunk Driving Collision
