Bike enthusiasts peddle for funds for Iowa bike path
Des Moines hosted a 50 mile fund ride drawing 311 cyclists to raise five thousand dollars for the first phase of a central Iowa bike path. Organizers expect to present a five thousand dollar check to Des Moines City Council to begin construction, opening eight miles of existing paths through Ashworth Park, the Waterworks, and Gray's Lake. Riders included State Fair Secretary Kenneth Falk and Iowa Attorney General Richard Turner.
