Bomb explodes injuring man near Boston riot scene

A homemade bomb on Blue Hill Avenue in Dorchester injured Daniel A. Hills, 30, of Uniondale New York, as sniper fire rocks and looting continued for a third night near Roxbury. Hills suffered a nailed wound to the eye and facial injuries. listed on the danger list at City Hospital.

Toll Now 260 Five Die In Iowa Weekend Crashes

Five persons died in Iowa traffic accidents over the weekend, lifting the 1967 toll to 260, compared with 314 last year. Victims include Charles Kirschbaum in Des Moines after a Burlington crossing crash, Ronald L. Johnson in Sioux City after a motorcycle collision, and Bert Anderson in Eagle Grove in a Fort Dodge area three-car crash.

UN Security Council Seeks Cease Fire as UNEF Departures

The Security Council met in emergency session to press for a Middle East cease fire while Thant reported Jordanian troops captured U N Headquarters in Jerusalem. Three Indian soldiers were killed as Israeli forces hit UNEF encampments, and UNEF commander Indar Jit Rikhye demanded an end to the attacks. The UNEF force has been deactivated at Egypt’s request and awaits removal. Thant asked Jordan’s King Hussein to order UNEF withdrawal from the headquarters compound.
