One Car Crash Fatal to Two in Iowa City Area
A Washington man and his uncle from Weirton West Virginia were killed in a one car crash nine miles northwest of Iowa City Saturday night. William George Ward 26 and Charles August Schneider 49 died from chest injuries and skull fractures after the vehicle left Highway 218, rolled, and burst into a field. Ward and Schneider were taken to an Iowa City hospital and pronounced dead on arrival. A double funeral will be held Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at Jones Funeral Home with burial in Elm Grove Cemetery. Ward was born August 15 1935 and worked as a truck driver. Schneider was born March 8 1913 and was a baker. Both are survived by multiple relatives and six indicated siblings and step siblings.

Tractor and Auto Crash Near Lexington No Injuries
A farm tractor and an automobile collided on a rural road near the Lexington community about five miles northeast of West Chester Saturday morning. No injuries were reported. Damages were estimated at 110 dollars for the tractor and 375 dollars for the car. Investigator Highway Patrolman Lyle Hansen said the crash occurred as Alvin Walter Acord of Wellman drove the car and Gary Edward Martin of Wellman drove the tractor while approaching a curve from opposite directions.
