Co Op Electric Chief Loses Finger Freeing Bull
Osage Alert Olson, president of the Co-Op Electric Co, freed his herd bull after its horns became tangled in a mesh wire fence. His right index finger was severed when the animal lunged and closed between a wire strand and the horn. He used pliers to cut the fence and released the bull, then sought medical attention.

Girl 14 Drowns Wading in Des Moines Gravel Pit
Viola Moon aged 14 of Des Moines drowned while wading in a gravel pit. She stepped into deep water and could not swim as her cousin David Visser 14 watched. Firemen found her body in about five minutes. Harold Wilson 20 and John Reeves 37, both of Des Moines, helped recover her. Parents Mr and Mrs Oren Moon were at work nearby.

101 Children Attend Tabernacle School
