Interior of Forestry Building at Lewis and Clark Exposition

The Forestry Building at the Lewis and Clark Exposition in Portland measures 200 feet by 105 feet and serves as both exhibit and palace. It uses two miles of five and six foot rows, eight miles of poles, tons of shakes and cedar shingles, with a monster log weighing thirty two tons. One base log fifty two by six feet could yield thirteen aisles of flooring, and enough lumber remains to build a 40 by 40 cottage with fence and board walk and fuel the fire for months.
