Joe Brookhart 46 youngest son of the late US senator and Washington family member died Wednesday in Grand Forks North Dakota after a heart attack. Former Columbus Junction resident Ralph Gilkey died early today in West Middlesex Pennsylvania. Funeral services will be held there. He was born on a farm near Columbus Junction to H M Gilkey and Laura Johnston Gilkey. Survivors include his wife two sons one daughter and three grandchildren. Also two brothers including William Gilkey of Columbus Junction and three sisters including Mrs Lillian Maxwell of Crawfordsville.
Mrs RS Johnston 96 former Columbus City resident widow of a Louisa County farmer died Tuesday at Hillcrest Hospital Des Moines. Services in Stacy Funeral Home Columbus Junction with burial in Columbus City Cemetery. Born May 1 1870 Columbus City she married R K Johnston March 6 1890. Survivors include two daughters Dr Helen Johnston and Mrs Lewis Foss and one granddaughter Mrs James Quinn Jr.
