Gas incident victims recover as workers return
Tor was summoned and the men were given an oxygen treatment that helped bring them out from the effects of the gas. Mr and Mrs A L Griffith learned their grandson Leon Beatty 21 died this morning in Los Angeles after years of poor health. Beatty served in World War II but was discharged for disability. Son of Floyd and Virginia Beatty formerly of Washington he was nephew of the Washington WWI casualty after whom the local Legion post is named. He leaves his parents and sister Marilyn in California. funeral arrangements were not learned.

In Monroe Georgia last week a Black man was set upon by six white men who whipped him after accusations of saddle theft. The victim Leon McTutie junior was found dead in a Sunflower county bayou.
