State Sunday notice states that the last will and testament of Fred B Weekly deceased dated November 10 1944 has been filed and set for hearing on Friday July 30 1948 at the Washington County Courthouse before the district court or clerk at 1:00 o clock.
All persons interested must appear and show cause why the instrument should not be probated as the last will of the deceased. Ordered by R. R. Noonan, Clerk, District Court, Washington Iowa. Dated July 24, 1948 with official seal and deputy signature.
The West Chester WRC met at K P Hall with twenty members present. President Mrs. Frank Kleese opened, chaplain Mrs. John Robertson led prayers, and new member Mabel Johnson was initiated. Applications for membership were read and committees named.
Investigation by committee notes relief fund totals 337.75 with reports on cards 19.00 flowers 15.25 and memorials. Waterhouse 136 points vs Van Sickle 120, books audited, piano serviced, pass word given. Flag burning rite, charter draped for Comrade McMurry, group social planned August 3 at Mrs Lau bach with guest and sewing activity.
Nine members of the Grace Hill Ladies met at the community building for quilting and garment work led by Mrs Verlee Engle. Devo tions included the 82nd Psalm and a Numbers verse, with a business meeting and an ice cream supper planned for July 28 at 7 30.
The Booster club met at Mrs. George Dare’s home with co host Mrs. Martin Whitaker. Ten members four visitors and four children attended. Roll call cited How I Spent the Fourth. Delbert Darnell invited all members to the August 17 club picnic. Entertainment led by Mrs. Richards and Mrs. Landau. prizes won by Mrs. Lloyd and Mrs. George Jarrard. Refreshments were served. next meeting is the picnic.
Mrs Martha Raymond of South Dakota visits the Yor di family in Riverside for several weeks. Mrs A H Pogge returns home from Mercy Hospital Iowa City. Oscar Haas and Eldren Kron with son Jimmie visit Fred Kron's home. William Ingram and Henry Colling families visit from Chula Vista. William Waldschmidt and daughter Susana Ann visit George Waldschmidt's family in Madison Wisconsin.
