Probing Death of Baby Found on Waterloo Porch
An investigation into the death of a newborn boy continued after mutilated remains were found on a Waterloo house porch wrapped in undergarments and newspapers. Sheriff H. T. Wagner said a police guard was placed at the hospital room of a young woman who had recently admitted herself. The woman arrived Sunday and declined to comment.

Explosion Death Toll Rises At Port Chicago
In Port Chicago California the explosion of two ammunition ships killed many and prompted a navy inquiry. The Victory ship Quintlt Victory and the Liberty ship EK. A.
