Council Meets. Milk Ordinance Advances to Second Reading

Laborer Dies in Dynamite Blast Near Walla Walla
Ed Peterson, 85, a transient laborer from Colorado, was killed when he drilled into old dynamite charges on the Walla Walla cutoff road near here. The blast hurled him about 40 feet into the air.

Coroner Rules Suicide in Brighton Death
Coroner W. B. Kyle and Sheriff R. H. McCarty investigated the Brighton case after Lynn's suicide yesterday evening. They found the death clearly by his own hand with apparent circumstances and declared no inquest necessary.

Joe Wright Injured in Fall Off Hay Load
Joe Wright of Washington was injured while unloading hay at the Cannon ranch Verdi. He fell twelve feet from a hay load when its support shifted fracturing a pelvic bone. He was unconscious until medical help arrived and was taken to the county hospital for treatment.

Brighton Rural Carrier Honored For Thirty Years Service
On July 14 1933 the Washington County Rural Letter Carriers Association held a party at the Brighton Methodist Church to honor Avery K Horton who retired as rural carrier on KR 2. About a hundred attendees including post offices at Ainsworth Brighton and others heard short talks, enjoyed a cafeteria supper and ice cream, and heard remarks from local officials. Horton began as total carrier April 1 1903 and served thirty years and three months retiring June 34 1933.
