Harvey Jones, a 23 year old Black farmer from Ahoskie North Carolina, won a 5200 Cadillac in a Kiwanis festival drawing but was deemed ineligible to attend the dance. Sheriff Charlie Parker and two lawyers returned his ticket price and corrected the outcome. Two Men Hurt in Kalona Highway Crash
