A Detroit note recalls a woman now past seventy who turned white in her hair about 30 years ago and has returned to a natural black shade without remedies. It cites a curiosity for medical insight and mentions Chinese history and a Pullman scare near Rock Island Moline where several windows were broken in a nighttime attack.
The Union Painters and Bakers strike across major cities gathers 3500 painters and 200 bakers, with action spreading but quiet in Cleveland Detroit and Danville. Knights of Labor defy orders to strike further, while California rail disruption diminses rail movement as hobos threaten workers.
