In Brighton Washington County a large community search formed after eight year old Glen Berger went missing Sunday while his family visited a cemetery. Fire siren alerted residents to help scan fields and timber until they found him asleep on a picnic table at home.
U S air and naval forces struck multiple petroleum storage sites in North Viet Nam during 88 bombing missions. A downed F4 Phantom crew was rescued, while a Skyhawk from USS Constellation went missing. Other missions destroyed trucks and batteries as infantry clashed with Viet Cong near Saigon and along the Cambodian border.
