Long hard days followed ankle surgery for Charles
Week's strain eased as Charles recovered from ankle operation by Dr Steinhler Uje. Family visitors and neighbors filled the week with reports of health, farm work, and local social calls. The homefront included appendicitis recovery for a relative and several trips for dental work and visits with kin. Sweltering heat contrasted with busy rural life as townsfolk attended Bible school events and noted farm progress.
