Duke Story Dies in Illinois and Funeral Held in Lexington
The elderly Duke Story formerly of this county died in Canton Illinois. His remains arrived in the city at 11 o clock a.m. by Narrow Gauge train. The body was taken to Lexington for funeral and burial. He was about ninety years old. He traveled with son George Story and daughter Miss Ilannah Story who had lived with him. WY. B. Story of West Chester joined the funeral party at the station.

A delegate convention of the Republicans of Washington county is called to meet at the Graham Opera House in Washington city on August 5 1897 at 1 p m to select 15 delegates to the State Convention in Cedar Rapids August 15 and 16 and to nominate county officers including Representative Treasurer Sheriff Superintendent of Schools and Board of Supervisors.
