Three Sentenced in Washington County District Court
Three men were sentenced Friday in Washington County District Court on criminal convictions. Judge Ira F. Morrison gave Jim Ward a one year county jail term and a $50 fine with nine months suspended for breaking and entering. Richard Donnahoo received a suspended one year prison term and must enter the Alcoholic Recovery Unit with a one year license revocation. Douglas Heaston was fined $300 and had his license suspended for 120 days for first offense drunk driving. Three others pled guilty to OMVAS. sentencing set for July 22. Arraignments included Delmar Earl pleading innocent to breaking and entering and Michael E. Martin and Dennis L. Schauf pleading innocent to marijuana possession. All waived speedy trials.

Women to share ten percent of street find in Davenport
Two Quad Cities women found six thousand seven hundred dollars on a downtown Davenport street. After a meeting with the elderly man who lost the money and an assistant county attorney, Scott County Auditor Karen Fitzsimmons said the man was confirmed as the owner. The women were initially told the money would belong to them if unclaimed after one year.

Des Moines Osteopath Pettit License Under Review
Polk County Judge heard a request to require the Iowa medical board to hear testimony about Dr. Robert L. Pettit's past drinking problems. Pettit's license was revoked after he pled guilty to distributing 116 diet pills to an undercover agent in 1975. An attorney sought overturning the revocation or adding testimony from Pettit's psychologist.
