Lake Built South of Washington on Airport Road
Mel Jaspering Harold Norton and Ivan Jarvis own forty acres one mile south of Washington on the airport road. They have added a small lake with fishing and boating facilities though stocked fish are not yet present. The plan spans four years with future subdivision into one acre plots for housing. Immediate plans include two sandy beaches for swimming once insurance allows. Signs warn swimmers to use caution as the lake is unsupervised and 25 to 30 feet deep. The project, designed by the Washington County Engineering department, used a culvert upgrade saving a second large culvert. Public access is allowed for boating and picnicking but swimming is not yet permitted.
