Robert N. Denham of the national labor relations board said he will seek a federal injunction to halt a three day strike by the United Mine Workers in the nations 10 biggest steel company captive mines. The action follows charges that John L. Lewis and the union refused to bargain in good faith over a union shop without a Taft Hartley election. A hearing is set for July 22 before Judge T Alan Goldsborough. Three Sentenced in District Court Here
Harold Felgenhauer and Melvin Cox were jailed to begin prison terms set by Judge Frank Bechly. Charles Windolf also received a sentence to be served in Eldora. Funeral Rites Held For Former Washington Resident
Funeral services for frent Davison former resident of Washington were held Wednesday morning in the Range chapel at Davenport. Davison died Monday morning at Mercy hospital after an extended illness. He was born November 3 1875 in Copock Iowa and later moved to Davenport forty years ago. He lived at 1914 East Eleventh street at the time of death. Survivors include a son Homer of Wayland a widow two daughters in Davenport and several grandchildren and great grandchildren.
