ARNOLDS PARK Those who predicted last spring that business in the Okoboji lake resort region would be good this summer despite the war seem to have the right idea. Karl Tangey of Spencer, official of the Great Lakes association, says a survey in the resort trade indicates almost all lines report a busier season than last year. He adds Iowa residents avoid long trips and spend vacations and weekends in state locales. In the retail field, filling stations outpace only the number of stores, the survey shows.

Mrs. Hilma Larson, 74, Dies. Rites Thursday
Hilma Engstrom Larson died at 1:15 am at her daughter’s home eight miles northeast of Washington after a heart condition. Funeral services are set for 2:30 pm Thursday at Sherman's funeral home with burial in Elm Grove Cemetery. Rebekah lodge members are asked to attend from the Odd Fellows hall at 2 pm. She was born Aug 17, 1867 in Varmland Sweden, married Lars Emil Larson in Moline in 1892, moved to the Washington area in 1907, and was active in Rebekahs and Women’s Relief Corps. Survived by two daughters, one son Bergie ER Larson of Detroit, twelve grandchildren, and siblings Roy Engstrom and Mrs. Edward Petit.
