Havre Elevator Fire Causes Heavy Loss to Local Owners
A Havre fire destroyed the main elevator building, two corn cars, and much machinery. The blaze began in the engine room around midnight, with rescue efforts by residents who saved a third car and nearby property. Insurance covered part of the $5,000 plus loss, and owners Lane and Beanblossom face substantial financial damage. Nearby Amoret Kansas tornado news and a June 27 lightning strike in Rankin are also noted.
