Claim Disallowed in Maxwell versus Estate Case

The case of T. H. Maxwell against the estate of N. Lease and M. Welch as administrator ended with the claim being disallowed after about twenty witnesses. Judge Dewey issued the ruling after late evidence. The matter involved a claimed sum near two hundred dollars and included a counterclaim by the administrator. Clerk Young issued licenses for Isabel Robertson and Charlotte Myers, with further names including J E McCrabb Oliver M Huber noted as residents of Seventy Six township. Post Office Rules Toughen on Alternative Addresses

The Post Office Department ruled that alternative addresses must not be respected by postmasters and that after March 1 all mail bearing such addresses shall be unmailable. An example cites a letter to John Smith with an unnecessary farmer’s note as a violation. undeliverable pieces must be returned or cannot be mailed after March 1.

Cabinet maker loses finger in buzz saw accident

Ed Daniels, a cabinet maker for C. S. Miller & Son, suffered a severe crush injury to the little finger of his right hand when caught in a buzz saw yesterday at about four o'clock. Surgeons removed the finger and he will be away from work for several days.

Richmond Church Wedding of Dennis Brennan and Rosa Reiner

This morning at the Richmond church Dennis Brennan son of Patrick Brennan and Miss Rosa Reiner daughter of Joseph Reiner were married. A reception at the bride’s parents home followed with a wedding dinner served. A dance in their honor is planned for tonight in Richmond.

Discharged Daugherty in State Case for Assault

The State vs Daugherty opened with witness testimony but the judge dismissed the case citing lack of court time to settle scraps. Judge Withrow then presided over a filing against the Washington Illuminating Co postponed due to missing witnesses. An information against Wim McChurch for malicious threats was filed last night and delayed by weather and health.

County Jail Note On Radam Remedy And Local Nuisance

A Radam sarsaparilla vendor, known as Radam, is jailed for selling his remedy house to house without a license. Ife arrested this morning and faces a 7:30 p m hearing. bond of 1000 was posted and the subject freed. Catarrh cure claims to cure by internal action. warned not a quack remedy.
