Ancient Splinter Found in Nebraska Drift Wood Age Hinted
Wilbur Benedict a Casey area farmer found a wood splinter in blue clay during a well dig at 90 feet. Geologists say the Nebraska drift deposits place the piece in the first glacial period making it potentially ten thousand years old. The fragment’s age estimate relies on Benedict’s claim of deep time for the wood.
