Knoxville woman charged in auto loan and forgery scheme
Clair Cornick 30 of Knoxville Iowa was arrested by Polk County deputies for alleged auto loan and purchase transactions and charged with forgery and uttering a forged instrument. He admitted starting a scheme to steal a registration certificate from Reese H. Rading’s car in Knoxville ten days earlier to obtain a 125 loan, use 80 of the loan to buy another car, and trade the 80 car for a 200 car.

Sioux City Woman Had Gun Pays Fine
In Sioux Falls J N. Marshall of Bismarck was sentenced to a year in the South Dakota penitentary after pleading guilty to carrying a loaded concealed weapon. Gladys Viola Riley of Sioux City, 43, was fined 50 for possessing a gun. Police found 58 quarts of whisky and burglar tools in the car.

Ottumwa Youth Wounded by Accidental Gun Discharge
Ronald Chandler a 17 year old Ottumwa radio station employee was wounded Thursday night when a gun discharged at the transmitter house. He took the gun from a drawer to retrieve something else and the weapon fired as he replaced it the bullet entering his upper thigh. Doctors removed it above the ankle and his condition was listed as satisfactory at Ottumwa Hospital.
