Des Moines January 17. The state board of railway commissioners extended hearings on proposed natural gas pipelines into nearly all southeastern Iowa cities to Thursday. Opponents include Iowa coal operators and railway interests. The pipeline company seeks 219.5 miles of new line from southern Iowa mains to serve Cedar Rapids Ft. Madison Keokuk Washington Mt. Pleasant Burlington and Davenport.

Buried booze found near Kalona recovered by sheriff
