FHA VA loan rate cut halves ceiling to seven and a quarter
The U S government trimmed the interest ceiling on FHA and VA backed loans from 8 percent to 7.25 percent in a second reduction in six weeks. Loans applied for after today will use the lower ceiling, with FHA charging a 0.5 percent insurance premium. The new effective rates are 8 percent for FHA and 7.25 percent for VA.
