Funeral services for Mrs Em ma Worley were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock in the Jones funeral home with Rev. W. J. Stevens officiating. Pallbearers were Clarence Kauffman, Paul Campbell, Richard Pain, Donald Pearson, Wayne Norman and Cloud Willits. Burial followed at Elm Grove cemetery. The note on gold explains it resists tarnish yet scratches easily and is hardened with 1 percent copper for coinage.

Dr. C E Bassler who died of gunshot wounds Tuesday in Ainsworth lies in state at Shermans funeral home. Born August 26 1885 in Manhattan Kansas he graduated from Kansas State college in 1907 and from Kansas University in 1918. He married Jennie Parker in Harveyville May 9 1911 and practiced as a veterinarian in Kansas before moving to Ainsworth twenty years ago. He held veterinary and dairy inspector roles and planned retirement in California or Arizona. Survivors include his wife two sons Doyle M of Hoopeston S and Carl B recently returned from China and two grandchildren.

In Moline hundreds of farm equipment electrical workers walked off the job prompting John Deere to close the plow works by nightfall idling all 1200 production workers. In Des Moines Frank Hollingsworth 77 former Boone county legislator died after a short illness.
