A fire at the $12,000 Methodist church in Plover raged from the roof and burned the brick structure, with origin undetermined. No occupants were present when it broke out, volunteers fought flames but saved nearly all furnishings as the building fell into ruins.

New Spring Aviation Course Planned At Washington Jr College
Dean Harland Mead announced a 1941 spring private flight training program for ten or more students at Washington Junior College. The course, starting February first, includes 77 hours ground school 35 to 45 hours flight training and 18 more ground work hours. Costs total 25 dollars plus tuition and medical insurance. Eligible students must be 19 to 25 years old sophomores or have two years college, with one seat per class of ten. The Feb 1 to June 30 schedule precedes a summer session and extra interviews are planned.

Double Crash Near Kalona Leaves No Injuries
Lester Welch was arraigned in district court on a charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after a Sunday evening collision on highway 22 near Kalona. Bonds set at $500. A Riverside driver and a Kalona driver were involved in the crash causing about $200 in damage.
