Pioneer William Eckels Dies. Washington County Resident
William Thomas Eckels a member of a Washington County pioneer family died at his son Merle Eckels home northwest of town after a three week illness. Born June 23, 1856 near St. Clairsville Ohio he moved to Iowa with his parents in youth and helped run a family tile factory and quarry. Surviving are four children including Merle Eckels Nora Eagle and E. J. Bruce and W. G. Hardwick with several siblings. Funeral plans pending word from a daughter in the west. Flowers omitted per family request.
