Funeral services are set for Saturday at 1:30 p.m. at Sherman Funeral home with Rev. W. M. Nichol officiating. Burial will be in Elm Grove Cemetery. He married Ethel Stevenson in 1902 and was a longtime member of the United Presbyterian church. survived by a foster brother John Sowash and his wife.

End Comes at 12 30 Today Orville Elder Dies
Orville Elder longtime publisher of the Evening Journal died at 12 30 today at the Elder home on South Iowa avenue after a two year illness. The funeral is set for Saturday at 2 30 at the Methodist church with interment in Elm Grove cemetery. He led a forty year career in Washington and was honored by the Iowa Press Association as Master Editor. He served in the Presbyterian church Rotary club Masonic lodge and Y M C A and is survived by his wife and son David, with several siblings and other relatives.
