A fire at a gas house in A Plain damaged the building and nearby structures. Fire crews fought the blaze for hours, briefly halting traffic as flames were brought under control. No serious injuries reported, though residents evacuated as a precaution. Local authorities investigated cause.
A noon fire at the gas works caused by an oil coke carbon blaze on the roof nearly consumed the generator room. Firemen and workers prevented a larger catastrophe, but the building suffered total loss with no insurance.

The couple's plan collapsed as the rival suitor left for home. The town buzzes over the affair while local attorneys may see more cases. W. I. Garret visited from Washington for deputy work with Sheriff Teeter. Community notes mention residents traveling, church services, and a tax levy for 1895 with totals and allocations across state county and city lines. Reverend H. L. Stetson will preach at the First Baptist Church.
