Early chicks pay big profits in February starts
Frank Priebe outlines farm records from 33 towns showing February hatchers earned about 1.73 dollars per hour while March and April starts yielded far less. He notes flock size boosts earnings: 100 hens 0.25, 100–200 hens 0.79, 500+ hens 1.81 dollars hourly. He argues early robust scales and large flocks maximize income, citing national poultry patterns and market premiums.
