Vaccination Side Effects Warned by Washington School Nurse
Washington County students recently vaccinated against rubella may develop a mild fever within one to two weeks. Doses of aspirin are advised by age: 3–10 years one adult aspirin every 4–6 hours. over 10 years ten grains (two adult aspirin) every 4–6 hours. A mild rash may appear in some children, usually not needing treatment unless fever accompanies it. The school nurse provided this guidance.

Vernon Columbus Community Woodward Granger Springville Mid Prairie New London Mt. Pleasant Oskaloosa Bloomfield Wilton Junction South Tama competed. WHS participated without scoring. Mike Wax of Stan Kenton Orchestra performed and clinic duties were held. Larry Green credited Everetts Music Co. for festival coordination.

Fighting flares in four Vietnam areas
UPI reports ground fighting flared in four South Vietnamese areas and in Cambodia with 184 guerrillas and 20 South Vietnamese killed.
