Red Cross Class In Cedar Township Set To Begin

Living Costs Dip for First Time in a Year
UPI reports a 0.1 percent drop in January consumer prices, led by lower costs for clothing, cars, and food. Rites for Frank Novy Held at Riverside Church
Funeral services for Frank Novy Sr. 74 were conducted Monday at Trinity Methodist Church Riverside with Rev E Edward Philgreen presiding. The Riverside native and retiree died Saturday at a daughter’s home in What Cheer. Surviving relatives include a daughter Leona Copeland of Torrance California two sons Cletus of Santa Monica and Frank Jr. of Swisher eight grandchildren and two brothers Otto and Albert Navy of Riverside. Burial followed in Riverside Cemetery.

Iowan Kills Self In Burning Home Monday
Harold Bartholomew aged 57 was found dead of shotgun wounds in his burning Turin Iowa home Monday night authorities said he set the fire himself. Firemen carried his body from the three room house after it was splattered with gasoline. Sheriff Mark Whitmore said Bartholomew in ill health splashed gasoline rolled a tire into the living room and set the fuel jug beside the fire.
