Services Monday For Ralph Foster 76
Funeral services for Ralph I. Foster 76, a former Wellman resident, will be held Monday at 1:30 p.m. at the Powell Funeral Home with Rev. Jerry Beltz officiating. Burial will be in Wellman Cemetery. Foster died in Brandon Florida on February 22 after two years of declining health. He was born November 30 1884 and married Anna Brown in 1907. she died in 1942, later marrying Fern Schuck in 1947. He lived much of his life in Wellman and had resided in Florida for the past decade. Survivors include daughter Mrs James Patterson of Wellman, four grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and sister Mrs Ethel Rugg of Wellman. He was preceded in death by a sister and two brothers.

Seven Youths Jailed for Hubcap Theft Ring in Iowa City Area
Seven Washington youths aged 17 to 20 pleaded guilty to auto hubcap thefts spanning several weeks, with four high school seniors among them. Sentences ranged from 10 to 30 days in county jail. five received 30 days, one 15 days, one 10 days. Police say over 40 hubcaps were stolen from cars in Iowa City Mt. Pleasant Burlington and some from Washington. The youths will continue school while serving terms, taking tests to graduate with their class pending grades.
