The Washington Chamber of Commerce Legislative Committee will meet State Senator Forrest Schwengels and State Representative Keith Dunton in the Frontier Cafe basement on Saturday February 26 from 8 to 10 a.m. The pair will also be at the Chamber Office from 10 a.m. to noon for follow up meetings with individuals or groups interested in pending legislation.

The Washington County Historical Society will hold its winter dinner meeting at 6 30 p m on Thursday March 3 at the Captain's Table with guest speaker Mrs Caroline Schaffner known as Susie from the Toby and Susie Tent Shows. Reports on county historical projects and the new Bicentennial History of Washington County will be given. Information is available from society officers or John Owen. Four men pleaded guilty in the February 14 gunshop burglary in Jefferson County District Court. Larry Longbine 25 Cicero Illinois pleaded guilty to robbery with aggravation and is in the Washington County Jail on 50 000 bond. Dwight Wessels 21 and Jeffery Dahle 18 of Garner and Kim Robertson 23 of Belmond pleaded guilty to burglary without aggravation and remain in jail on 25 000 bonds each. Sentencing set for March 14.
