Iowa State students fined for stealing signs in Ames
Three Iowa State College students Enlow Ose Blairsburg Glen Gilman Scottsbluff Neb Gerald Strickler Grun dy Center pleaded guilty in Ames municipal court to destroying private property. They were fined 50 dollars each or 15 days in jail. Police said they pulled an electrically controlled barber pole from the Sutter barber shop and 15 other signs statewide were later recovered from a fraternity group.

Trucker Dies in Gas Truck Fire Near Woodbine
John Graft, 23, of Chester Nebraska, was killed when his oil transport truck failed to negotiate a curve and plunged over an embankment east of Woodbine. About six thousand gallons of gasoline ignited and burned for six hours.
