One Dead In Truck Train Crash Near Riverside
Myrl H. Bennett 32 of Sioux Rapids died when a truck carrying eggs collided with a Rock Island freight train at a grade crossing on highway 218 east of Riverside. Donald Richardson 19 was injured. the diesel locomotive overturned and a car left the tracks. The crash halted traffic for about three hours and a coroner's inquest was postponed until the driver could testify.
