House Votes U S School Lunch Bill
Washington February 21 The House passed and sent to the Senate legislation to authorize the federal government to contribute 560,006,009 annually to state school lunch programs in a 275 to 101 vote. A motion to send the bill back to the Agriculture Committee failed 260 to 121 and an anti discrimination amendment by Adam Clayton Powell was adopted 258 to 109. The measure aims to establish a permanent lunch program with gradually declining federal participation.

Funeral services for Jacon Hirschy at Wayland Church
Wayland, February 21 funeral services for Jacon Hirschy of Alsace Lorraine France will be held tomorrow afternoon at Wayland. The service begins at 2 o clock at the John Wagler home and at 2 o clock at Sugar Creek church with Rev. Simon Gingerich officiating. Hirschy died yesterday at the home of his daughter Mrs John Wagler after years of ill health. He was born February 29 1864 and immigrated to America at 17. He married Magdalena Christner in 1885 and they had ten children. Surviving are daughter Mrs Wagler and son Joseph Hirschy of Wayland. eight of their children preceded him in death.
