Mrs. Robert Lloyd Dies Here Today

Mrs. Robert Lloyd of 951 South Fourth died just before noon today at the hospital after a Friday stroke. Arrangements for the final rites will be handled by Jones Funeral Home.

Injuries Fatal To Rudy Wagenknecht Friday Afternoon

Rudolf J. Wagenknecht 62 died after a work accident at McCormick Farm Equipment Store Friday. He was run over by a truck and died at Washington County Hospital. Survived by wife Enda, son Burdette, daughter Ruth Reneger, four grandchildren, four brothers and one sister. Funeral Monday at Jones Funeral Home. Burial in Columbus City Cemetery.

Keokuks Rifle Found and Displayed in Keokuk Museum

The long lost rifle of Chief Keokuk was found when A J Christiansen of Oak Park Illinois presented it to Lee County Historical Society president William Talbot. The Danish crafted weapon, about 150 years old, bears an inscription to Keokuk from Lt Col Raafloff and will be shown at the Keokuk Historical Museum in the city named for the chief who opposed the Blackhawk War.

Infant burial service held for Sellers infant

Private graveside rites were conducted at Columbus City Cemetery for the infant son of Mr. and Mrs. Max Sellers of Columbus Junction. The baby died at birth Friday morning at 2 o'clock in Washington County Hospital. Survivors include the parents two sisters Janie and Rita and grandparents Xenia Seminary.

Two rural Marion youths aged 14 James Moore and John Walden stole school principal Dan Parkins 1960 station wagon and fled toward Minnesota. After a high speed chase they wrecked the car near Fayette and Moore surrendered when his feet got cold and he asked where the jail was.
