Iowa Consumer Protection Division backs legislation to require trade and vocational schools to post a $10,000 operating bond and name a registered state agent. The Iowa House passed, 79 to 8, a bill to raise juror pay to 10 dollars per day and 10 cents per mile for both grand and petit juries. The Chicago, Rock Island and Pacific Railroad is responsible for repairs. County Engineer Bob Huber pressed for fixes after December rains caused erosion. repairs with steel pilings and wooden planks began after public notice.
