John B Strickler 89 died at his Kalona home at 2 30 am after an extended illness. Funeral services are set for Thursday at 2 pm at Kalona Christian Church with Rev T R Van Der Veer presiding. Burial will be at Sharon Hill Cemetery. He was born February 18 1867 in Johnson County and married Bertha Zager September 16 1897. He is survived by his wife three sons a daughter three grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

Griffin Rites Will Be At Burlington Thursday
Funeral services for James G. Griffin 19 will be held at the Giles Funeral Home in Burlington at 1 30 p m Thursday. Griffin son of Mr and Mrs William Griffin of Columbus Junction was killed Saturday night when his car went out of control on a curve north of Indianapolis. He had been visiting his parents in Columbus Junction and was en route back to Burlington at the time of the crash. He was born April 12 1935 at Melrose Iowa. He attended Columbus Junction High School and was employed in Burlington.
