Deny thousands dead in Iranian avalanche
Tehran based government spokesman Farhad Nikoukhah said 23 people died in avalanches in Azerbaijan Province with 18 buried in Rezaiyeh and four or five in Sardasht. He asserted thousands buried reports were baseless and 700 were hospitalized while about 5 000 were evacuated to Tehran by air rail and road.

Industrialist William P. Lear unveiled a steam powered bus of the future in KENO Nevada with Del Hood at the wheel. Lear predicted an auto version in about 60 days and manufacturing within 18 months pending funding.
