In the Library of Congress a hidden Lincoln collection, donated by Robert Todd Lincoln, is being indexed for later public release. The papers remain sealed until at least July 26, 1947 to protect living individuals mentioned, with microfilming planned but possibly delayed to prevent leaks.

Plenty of Red Cross yarn remains in the work room for Washington women to knit into socks and sweaters to meet the county quota. Local knitters have responded well, but organizers Mrs John Cierry Ella Gordon and Mrs T S Barker seek more volunteers to finish the assignment. Knitting targets include men’s hospital socks and children’s sweaters with the room in Atchison’s shoe store balcony. Washington high school announces the first concert of the year by the high school and junior high bands at the high school auditorium Thursday at eight oclock. Price administrator Chester Bowles testified before a House subcommittee that removing food price ceilings will be delayed. He said major meat ceilings likely remain through six to eight months after December 1946, with milk dairy controls not lifted until spring 1947 and some fresh fish possibly decontrolled by May 1946. Restaurant ceilings extend at least to autumn.
