McCracken Found Guilty of Contempt in DC Case
William P. McCracken assistant secretary of commerce in the Hoover era was found guilty of contempt of the District of Columbia supreme court and fined 100 dollars or 24 hours in jail. He paid the fine and was arrested on a senate warrant. The case related to an air mail investigation and habeas corpus writs. Frank Hogan said he would seek another writ.
