Cress Indicted for Manslaughter in Riverside Crash
William Cress of Riverside faces manslaughter charges in Johnson County after a grand jury indictment. He was arraigned and pleaded not guilty. Third Suit Grows From Auto Crash in Iowa
In Leon Iowa the third 3000 dollar damage suit from a truck car crash near Indianola on October 24 1935 is set for February 23 in district court. Orville Burton driver of the truck and Farmers Elevator Co Dalton Missouri are defendants in a suit by W F Lindsey administrator of Robert Lindsey estate and by Mrs R B Hawkins and Mrs Eva Cain. Helen Hawkins daughter of Mrs Hawkins was injured in the earlier collision which killed Mrs Cain and three others. Earlier verdicts favored Burton and the elevator in two prior suits by Hawkins and by Helen Hawkins. Hawkins administrator has filed suit in her home but no trial date is set.
Infant Son of Ainsworth Couple Dies Soon After Birth
The infant son of Mr and Mrs Wayne Norman of the Ainsworth community died two to three hours after birth at the county hospital this morning. Funeral services were held at 3 pm at L A Jones funeral home with Rev fk J Shook of Ainsworth officiating. Burial was in Elm Grove cemetery. The mother before marriage was Alice Wilson daughter of Mr and Mrs Sherd Wilson formerly of Washington.
